Final Words

By Connor Ennis

Will we be buried in this bed?

And would we mind it if we were?

Who’s there that’s talking?

Where does that sound originate?

You chase meaning

Down a mumbling hallway

You grab its tail

And it says it wasn’t running

Place your hand there again

Hair in my mouth again

And now the only sound is breathing

Soon we’ll be sleeping

And you’ll tap my forehead

To stop me from snoring
