By Nicholas A Demmy
forgot

You lent me your favorite book and said to follow the plot,

but when I asked about it, it seemed like you forgot.

You said it was my turn to spend a night in your cot,

but when darkness fell it seemed like you forgot.

You told me how to please you and where to hit that spot,

but when it was time to get mine, it seemed like you forgot.

You told me you loved me, and you loved him not,

but when I asked again it seemed like you forgot.

You told me you believe in science, of course you’ll take the shot,

but when I asked if you got it, it seemed like you forgot.

You said you’re not into vengeance and just want him to rot,

but when it came time for mercy, it seemed like you forgot.

You said if I had a little, you’d never want a lot,

but when you cashed the check, it seemed like you forgot.

Be careful telling people everything you’ve ever thought,

you won’t be known for who you are, just what you’ve forgot.
