Permanence

would they have chosen me
or have they found
contentment with a father
accidentally
part society part anxiety
makes me question permanence

maybe it’s impossible
for humanity to meet in the middle
but I’m not
leaving

authenticity beats its drum in other hearts
I will wait for the cadence in me
silly to quit halfway through a man being made
death before dying
a grave mistake
