Unjustified And Other Poems

By Grant Armstrong

Unjustified

Driving with a small passenger in the backseat

The sun’s erection begins to shine through

The trees and onto the road and would penetrate

My eyes if not for the condoms over my them

As I remove her from her car seat she grabs

Hold off my arms walking her in she sees a

Stranger and not wanting to leave my chest

She turns closer to me and more tightly clings

And when I hand her over the crying was

Instantaneous and she looked at me with eyes

That yell betrayal but I know I cannot explain

To her the situation and that I’ll return later

Instead that image will stick with me today

As I realize how many times I’ve seen that

Look on others’ faces knowing they are too

Old to forget what I had unjustifiably done.

Writing Dirty Words On My Back

You scratch my back in order to scrawl in dirty words

Wearing a pink flower in your hair and one between your legs

I make you gag but you don’t make me beg

My hands wrapped around your waist and then your thighs

We continue to say hello as if we

Keep meeting for the first or second or third time

And mother nature is preventing me from

Spreading apart your lovely line

You’ve tasted me more than I have you

And because of this there is so much

More we still have to do

But keep talking, keep looking, and most of all

Keep writing dirty words on my back with your colorful nails.
