When Love Walked In
love walked in with his sleeves rolled up and the sun shining on his face
creating shadows that I now call by their names
love had an air of smoke that travelled across the room with him
I was scared of love when we first made out but love was gentle
love called me his smile and that I was something he never knew he needed
love tucked my hair, while grabbing the small inch of my waist
love made me dance to no music
I watched love cry for the first time in the month of july
we were seated a feet away on the terrace and the wind tasted different
I saw love in another light
I couldn’t recognize the shadows but I loved love anyway
I sang love songs to heal his pain, I wrote love letters that he has never written back
I immortalized love with words
words that have been embedded on my skin.
for a long time, love weighed me down, I could not see myself disappear
love now lives in poloroids on my desk
with nothing but memories hanging on to them
love has moved on and love has forgotten but how do I go love? tell me how do I love again
