April Wakefield Spikener
April Wakefield Spikener is a poet, writer, and self-love champion currently residing in the Bay Area, California. She is the author of Human., Butterfly: Poetry for Your Soul, and Internal Monologue: A Poetic Journey Through Love and Life. Her work has also appeared in Leaves of Wisdom, A Book of Daily Meditations and Encouragement, and the International Sisterly Relations Handbook for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. April enjoys writing about love in all forms because she believes it deserves more honor and attention, as it drives many of our actions, or lack thereof. She is a 2025 fellow in the Muses & Melanin Professional Development Fellowship for BIPOC Creative Writers.
