Catherine Carson has been an avid writer and reader all her life. She graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in English and a concentration in creative writing, specifically poetry. Catherine teaches creative writing classes at The Visual Arts Center, Richmond Young Writers, and The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She is the poet behind the collection, The Land of Opposite Attractions, published in 2022. Catherine just finished writing a second poetry collection, Loveland, and is trying her hand at short stories, both fiction and creative nonfiction. She explores themes like the body, womanhood, coming of age, intimacy, the mind, and turning the ordinary into something sacred. For Catherine, writing is a primal need, not a desire, and she looks forward to the evolution of her work.
