David Lohrey

David Lohrey grew up in Memphis. He graduated from U.C., Berkeley. His plays have appeared in Canada, Croatia, Estonia, and Switzerland. Sperm Counts opened in Hyderabad, India, translated by Jay Jha. David’s poetry has been published in Ireland, the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands; in the US, he has been anthologized by the University of Alabama, Illinois State University, and Michigan State University. His fiction can be read at Expat Press, Half and One, and Literally Stories. Machiavelli’s Backyard, David’s first collection of poetry, appeared in August, 2017. Bluff City, a collection of new work, was published in 2021. David’s study of 20th century exile literature, The Other Is Oneself, was published last year in Germany, and translated into six languages.
