Discovering Shel Silverstein, Poe, and Maya Angelou lead to writing poetry as a teen, stopped in college, then picked up adding children’s stories inspired by raising mine. The pandemic and murder of George Floyd lead me to needing a voice, place to express emotions bubbling to the surface during sleepless nights. As women and POC, inspiration comes from issues of DEI.
