Writing a story should be a fun experience. I feel that writers sometimes take themselves too seriously. For the first chapter my short story ‘The Suicide Clubs of Reno’ I got inspiration from a philosophical treatise on the ethics of suicide in a not-so-serious manner. German authors provide influence for some of my stories. ‘The Parable of the Wolf’ combines ideas from Herman Hesse and Franz Kafka to write a story that reflects current events in a fictional past. I like crafting stories using Folk Tales or another writer’s work as inspiration. In ‘A Forest Tale’ I used a supernatural spirit from the Kwakwaka'wakw people of British Columbia while writing from the Bukwas’ point of view. Enter my world of surealism, Folk Tales, Gothic stories, and philosophical thought.
