Guerguan Tsenov
Guerguan Tsenov is a Bulgarian-born writer, playwright, and musician living in New York City. He is the author of four books in Bulgarian, including the short story collections At the End the Author Dies (shortlisted for the National Helicon Prize) and A Portrait of a Man Without a Body or a Soul (translated into English by the award-winning translator Izidora Angel), the poetry volume Requiem, and a collection of plays. His stories “Shakespeare in the Park” and “Monsieur de Balzac” were recently published in the literary magazines The Courtship of Winds and The Bookends Review. His play The Promise ran for three seasons at Sofia’s Sfumato Theatre; Fantasia in C Minor was broadcast as a radio drama by the Bulgarian National Radio; and his opera Alma—for which he wrote the libretto—was presented at the Sofia National Opera House and will be performed in New York City in the fall of 2026.
